LUBRICATION OF BATTERY IGNITION DISTRIBUTOR
CONTACT LEVER PIVOT.

During discussion with Mr. A.E.Watson on Friday last he stated that they had carried out extensive experiments with all kinds of combinations of metals in order to prevent seizing of contact breaker levers and they had come to the conclusion that the bakelite bush working on a steel pivot pin is far and away the best proposition owing to the obviously different molecular construction of the two materials. Also, using bakelite and steel there is no necessity to provide any lubrication whatever beyond the initial greasing.
