With reference to our request that you send an order to Borg & Beck for the 100 plates, the following extracts of our correspondence are given below for your information as we had not the formal quotation from them. Borg & Beck Co.Ltd., Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. Dear Mr. Robotham, ....To meet you however, we are prepared to supply these 100 plates at a price of £3.5.0. which figure, according to our estimation is considerably lower than we should quote. ..... Yours faithfully, (Signed) H.Armitage. ------------------------ Rolls-Royce Ltd. Dear Sirs, ....In regard to the question of the 100 clutches, we propose to accept the quotation of £3.5.0., and would like you to proceed with these as quickly as possible. We appreciate that the piece which will determine delivery is the "Thermoid" facing, which you are obtaining from U.S.A. In regard to the further suggestion that the two Companies should discuss the question of the cost of the 100 plates, which will be made by hand, whilst we are interested in the suggestion we do not propose to press the matter further unless you on your part consider it to be desireable.
