opinion on the new material. They said they could give us
the same sort of thing, but thought we had not wanted anything
better than we had got. They said they could give us their
"Gloverite" or a better grade of the ordinary rubber covering.
Later they paid us another visit, the result of which is
that we have recently received samples for comparative tests
of their Gloverite, and what we call the Super-Glover H.T.
cable. We have now a sandwich system of these two with the
standard Glover running on chassis 12-EX in France. We also
obtained samples of Helsby cable for test.

Returning to the Maconite cable, we put further sets of
this on cars and these have been gradually accumulating
mileage.

In reply to an enquiry sent to the Repair Dept., we
received the following :-

"We get little or no complaint of H.T. cables
failing, but we realise how quickly the H.T.
cable perishes due to heat, etc.

A cable that will stand the heat and give a
longer life would be an improvement. It is at
the plug end the cables go first."

We have now arrived at a time when, having got back
all the sets of cables which have been run on experimental
cars, we have also completed the subsequent H.T. and other
tests on these cables. The various sets of cables to which
we refer are as follows :-
