" CK.{Mr Clark} X.3888. - 40/50 H.P. CHASSIS PETROL TANK.

We send you herewith drawing No. LeC. 1199 shewing the above.

The strainer tower has been reduced in diameter below the mouth and the angles of this tower have been altered to give what Mr. Royce considers a better position.

Would you kindly work to the new angles in the model instructed in the previous memo dealing with the side filler.

Mr. Royce wishes you to complete the scheme for this petrol tank; it will therefore be necessary for you to design a vent pipe from the top of the tank passing through the side frame and joining to the top of the filler tower.

It will also be necessary for you to deal with the reserve fuel supply device, sketch of which has been sent attached to a note of Mr. Royce's dealing with the matter.

The aforementioned sketch does not necessarily shew the best method of designing the lever at the top of the tank which brings into action the reserve fuel. It is thought that this latter might be arranged as a screw operating through a tapped hole instead of a nut, so as to be more proof against dust and dirt.

E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer}
