DYNAMO.

I am glad you have found some better carbon
brushes for dynamos.

I sent you a brand that had been found to last
well on Royce Ltd. dynamos here and at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence (10 to
20 yrs.) They were French - Le Carbon Co - but someone has
gone away from these at sometime, as your notes shew.

I could not gather from the memos, whether all
of you were referring to 3 brush or vibrator control.

Personally I am not interested in 3 brush control because,
even with 2 and 3 rate charge and the complex thoughts needed
to keep these in their right place, we do not get such
good characteristics of running, or good and sparkless cool
running from the dynamo.

Unless therefore you tell me the reason why we
cannot have vibrator control, I shall understand you are
fitting at once vibrator control to all our car dynamos,
and cease to worry about the wretched narrow 3rd. brush,
and its poor life and effect.

R.{Sir Henry Royce}
