With reference to the Car Inspection report mentioned in your memo EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}/W19/DJ31119., in which the owner of the chassis 1462 says that "the car is always very difficult to start and would it be possible to fix a self-starter if so what would be the cost", we recommend in cases like that that we should advocate the fitting of a priming device. There is no doubt with a primer there should be no difficulty in starting a car and in any case even if the electric starter is fitted the primer is fitted as a part of the equipment. The primer is quite a simple cheap fitting and be believe would make a number of customers happy who are at present complaining of the difficulty of starting.
