RE. DICKS' LUBRICATING OILS.

With reference to the above, and Mr.Franks' visit here on Friday, the 29th. ult., he is very definite in pointing out that the actual type of oil which he now recommends for Aero engines is the "H.S." type, and he gave us to understand that you had already received two sample barrels.
He also pointed out that the "S.L.P." type of oil should not be further experimented with, as they did not recommend this type of oil.
He also promised to send on to the works, addressed to me, two barrels of special oil which he said would be suitable for car engines. Will you please notify me when this arrives, and if possible, supply me with a barrel which we can use and test, if you think advisable, on our shop cars. Also, could you please supply me with a barrel of the Aero Engine oil which they recommend, so that I can test it on new engines going through their tests, and obtain comparative results of the condition of the engine after test, as compared with similar engines when using our present standard oils.
