Re LeC.839 & Special Fixture for machining Cross Steering Tube Joint Brasses of LeC.832.

I send herewith a suggested fixture for holding and spherical boring the half brasses for the cross steering tube ball joint shown on LeC.832.

There is no particular urgency as regards this tool, but I simply send it as a point which we have considered in connection with the manufacture of the joint. The difficulty is that the two half brasses have to be bored separately and therefore need to be located carefully in a fixtume similar to the enclosed. in order that they may come opposite each other in the joint. Otherwise, the generating method of boring the brasses is similar, on a small scale, to that already used for the torque tube ball.

I think the drawing is fairly self explanatory.

Mr. Royce informs me that there is somewhere at the Works a board containing brass models of typical tool forgings. If you know of the existence of this, could you send me a photograph of it which would be clear enough to show the shapes of the tools which we employ as standard.
