Use of 25% nickel steel versus stainless steel for a component, citing potential distortion and finish colour.

3. contd. If used in this condition the strength of the part will be wrong, if finally hardened distortion effects are certain to take place.

It appears to me that the correct steel to use would be stainless steel, and the only reason I can imagine why this has not been proposed is possibly the color of the 25% nickel steel may be nearer to a nickel silver type of finish.

Any information that Messrs. Firths can give us in regard to the above will be of value, particularly as I propose to raise the issue with R.{Sir Henry Royce} as to why the 25% nickel steel is being resorted to.

In any case, please order three sets of the above.
