With the long duration cams, the ground level power at full throttle, 29.9" Hg Barometer, 15°C temp., is

730 B.HP. at 2250 )
820 B.HP. at 2500 ) 100% Benzol

There appears to be an appreciable increase in B.HP. with the long duration camshafts.

Mr. Radcliffe, the Vickers Aerodynamic expert, was favourably impressed with the results, and returned with the intention of readjusting his calculations.

It is, I think, extremely desirable that we should continue to co-operate with the aircraft manufacturers with a view to obtaining an agreement between their analysis of performances and our predicted powers.

We have now three comparisons of engines fitted with the long duration cams, all of which shew the same characteristics.

At a later date I hope to compare these and detail a modified method of correction, as the latter differs from that laid down by the Air Ministry.
