| R 228? To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}7/MH.{M. Huckerby}8.7.38. 5.B.IV. As soon as the parts of the B.50 [handwritten correction: gearbox] have been crack tested we want to continue the dynamometer testing what was stopped by failure of the propellor shaft. Will you please re-build the box with all the same pieces, including the damaged third and fourth coupling. We do not need a reverse gear, the parts having been used up on the box in 1.B.50. As regards the axle we will continue to use the same pinion thrust bearing, but put in the other way round. It should be re-tained in place by spherical washers GB.3905/o.{Mr Oldham} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} | ||
