This can be accomplished by lengthening the lever at the base of the pull rod and will at the same time reduce the load on the drum to cause distortion, and reduce the effect of unit drum distortion on the lever which at present fouls the axle. The net result of this alteration as regards brake distribution on the car will be to give 38% of the total braking to the front, and give a pedal pressure on 'India' which will be proportional to that of the RAC. to effect a given retardation.
