You will appreciate that we gave you an estimated price of approximately 2/6d. each. As we had had no previous experience in manufacturing this type of article, we could not give you a definite figure, and from previous correspondence you will note that we encountered several unforeseen difficulties. We regret that we shall not be able to fall in line with your request in this instance and await your further comments in due course. Yours faithfully. FOR THE COMPANY.
