[Handwritten] Tyres Avon 1331 [Typed] Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}12/ML.29.10.40. here yesterday. We pointed out that their new tyre had acquired some unpleasant characteristics of squealing. They are putting the matter right. Dr. Mackay warns me that America is going in for the semi-pilotte tyre after the war and gave me the attached particulars. I have asked him to let me have exact tyre and rim sizes so that we can allow for these covers on the Myth's front suspension. Obviously, if the increased width of rim reduces steering lock or any other vital factor, we may turn down the possibility of using these tyres. I consider a good steering lock is quite one of the most important things on a small car. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
