ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} C. & C. WST. C. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 186065. BY.6/G.30.6.33. BENTLEY - SPEEDOMETER CALIBRATIONS. Referring to Roy.{Sir Henry Royce}7/MG.28.6.33. and Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. 2/KT.29.6.33. it is agreed that Wst. supplied us on the 28th June with the calibration requirements to enable us to settle the calibration providing the tyre question is settled. This, however, does not help us the least bit, as until the actual size of tyre to be fitted to the Bentley is decided upon we cannot possibly issue instructions to the Order Office to enable them to go ahead with the instruments. We understand that there is a doubt in regard to the tyre to be fitted, as apparently there is a suggestion from Sales that India tyres should be used instead of Dunlops. The size of the India tyre suggested is 550 x 18. What we require at the moment is a definite instruction that either India tyres or Dunlops will be specified, as without this we cannot settle the ratio for the speedometer. BY.{R.W.
