EPC.X.3840. RE "VULTURE" PISTON.

We send you herewith drawing No. Lec.1260 giving details of the "Vulture" piston.

One locking screw of ample size is shewn for securing the piston pin. The head is of rather a new pattern.

Referring to the spring skirt, Mr. Royce has suggested that this requires stiffness on the side opposite to the split, and ribs have been added in the manner shewn. The extra weight of these ribs is balanced by large drilled holes on the non-split side of the piston, and by increased thickness of metal under the piston rings on the split side.
