Special 23 gallon Petrol Tank. We attach to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH's copy the original of :- PL.1101 (2 sheets) Special 23 gallon Petrol Tank. The above scheme has been produced at Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}'s request, in order to get as large a petrol tank as possible in a standard Bentley B chassis. On PL.1101 we show a 23 gallon tank supported in a sheet metal cradle attached to the second and rearmost crossmember. The tank is held into position by means of metal straps passing over the top of the tank and holding in position in the cradle. The cradle and straps are shown attached to the rear crossmember by means of Alum. Bronze castings clamped together to save having to scrap the rear cross-member. Except for the shape and size the design of the actual petrol tank is the same as the standard Bentley B. Will Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH please get this job detailed without delay in order that Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager} can get the necessary number required produced. Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}/JD.{J. Draper - Frames} Original to Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH. Prints to: Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/HH, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FJH{Fred J. Hardy - Chief Dev. Engineer}, Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wym{G. Harold Whyman - Experimental Manager}, & Ashby. Please note we believe this petrol tank will go into any Senior Range model except those with the Corniche type Second Crossmember and the Spare wheel under the Rear boot floor. | ||
