Ekco Works,
Southend-on-sea.

Dear Sirs,

We have had a most annoying case of voltage regulator failure on one of our Phantom II chassis fitted with an Ecko radio set.

The car is the Limousine exhibited on our stand at the last Olympia Show.

We consider that the regulator trouble has been entirely due to the connection of the Ekco condenser filter unit to the field fuse terminal on our distribution board instead of the main dynamo fuse terminal. As fitted, the condenser unit is connected directly across the first pair of contacts on the regulator and the result is disastrous as the contacts will not stand up for more than two hours running.

We fitted actually five new regulators and one new dynamo to this car before we discovered the cause of the trouble.

In consultation with Messrs.Lucas who supply us with the C.A.V. regulator we understand that you have been notified by them that condensers shouldnot be fitted across the regulator contacts so that we are at a loss to understand how this wrong connection has occurred on the chassis in question.
