| S/W Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 304 To E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} re P.III All Aluminium Body. Copy to Mr.Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}Dr.Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}14/E8.4.37 Thanks for E/Lid.{A. J. Lidsey}1/HP.7.4.37. On referring to Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}11/E2.7.36 it shows that we turned down the aluminium body on the lines thenbeing discussed because the weight was going to be up on the all-steel. It was quite obvious that the cost also would be up so that we could not see what we were going to achieve. I certainly do not think it wise to confuse Mr.Ridlington with a lot of particulars about other people's schemes and plans. [Strikethrough]If his body were a failure, it would give him a beautiful let-out![/Strikethrough] We are allowing him to build this body to the ideas of himself and his designer and it is fully recognised that it is an experiment.
