contd :- -2- GRAPH 1: Title: SILVER GHOST OIL CONSUMPTION AT 2000 RPM FOR VARYING OIL FLOWS THRO' BEARINGS Y-Axis: CONSUMPTION PTS/HR X-Axis: OIL DISCHARGE THROUGH BEARINGS PTS/MIN TEXT: consumed will be influenced by the amount supplied to the walls. The following curve supports this supposition and shews how the consumption of this particular Silver Ghost increases with an increase of the aggregate oil flow through the bearings. The oil flow was regulated by means of the pressure. The effect of discharge upon consumption is more easily appreciated by reference to some results of road tests made on both a Phantom and a Silver Ghost. These curves shew how the miles per gallon decrease as the oil flow increases. It will be observed that the consumption on this base is nearly the same for each car. The small difference which does exist is in contd :- GRAPH 2: Title: OIL CONSUMPTION & FLOW THRO' BEARINGS Legend: ----- CAR S. Ex. SILVER GHOST -- -- CAR 10 Ex.
