Dear Sirs,

HIGH LIFT JACK.

In accordance with the request of Colonel Matthew I am having sent to you today a special jack we have had designed for use on Rolls Royce cars. The Jack has a standard ball race fitted and we believe the lift is sufficiently easy for all purposes. It would however, be possible to fit a Hoffman ball race at extra cost, but at the moment we do not consider it necessary.

The bevel pinion is a heat treated drop forging and is fitted with a bronze bearing on its outer end which will give additional support when the jack is used with an excessively long handle as will almost invariably be the case.

Regarding the handle, there is a 36" two part handle but we would like to suggest that you adopt the brace type of handle as this gives an exceptionally quick and easy lift.

We believe we have incorporated every known improvement with best quality workmanship and materials without however losing sight of the cost. The centre screw is hardened and heat treated, and the reason for heat treating the pinion is that we have found from experience that the drop forging pinions - which are necessarily made from very soft and pliable steel, will not stand up under heavy loads.

We regret the delay which has taken place in the production of this new jack, but it has necessitated a considerable amount of experimental work.
