X4228 BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} From Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} c. to GJ. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG29.12.21. FIBRE WASHERS. X4225 X4228 We wish to get rid of fibre washers wherever possible. Will you please instruct some washers for the 40/50 and Goshawk steering pivots in continental micarta instead of fibre. We should also like to try these washers on the petrol joints on the Goshawk Carburetter. We recommend that on the Goshawk Cylinders, the permanent core plugs should be put in with enamel and, if necessary, hemp and that there should be no fibre washers used. We anticipate that the Goshawk cylinders will be finished by stove enamelling so that if the screws holding the water covers and other joints on the cylinder were dipped in enamel and then stoved, they should be quite water-tight. We are continually having trouble with the fibre washers cracking and breaking and causing leaks. MADE AT CROXLEYS Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
