1115 HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}4/R.24.1.38. Weight Analysis of New Chassis. Confirming our telephone conversation, the weight analyses that Cra'ster has been able to obtain on Wraith are exceedingly good. We are particularly anxious that he should have every opportunity of getting out a similar analysis on B.III. If we do not get the weights early on, modifications to design may be introduced at a later date due to pieces being too heavy, which will delay production etc., etc. It cannot be economic to have two sources of weights, i.e., for Cra'ster to do the job all over again after someone in the Shop has weighed the pieces. We agree that there must be no delay in getting figures when a chassis is wanted in a hurry. If delay is taking place, we are prepared to make arrangements so that this does not happen. We should be glad of your co-operation in this matter. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
