To B.J. From Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X 3735 RECEIVED Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 6/LG13.10.20. X.3735 RE DYNAMO WHITTLE BELT. With reference to the returned standardisation sheet (attached). With the present dynamo belt at very low speeds it causes vibration which causes a hum. The vibration comes about by the shortening and lengthening of the belt as the links pass round the small pulley. We have found that we can minimize this noise by having shorter links so that the belt does not vary so much in length. Tests with these shorter link belts prove them to be better in this respect.
