20/25-HP EXIDE BATTERY TYPE 6-SSM7-IL.

In reply to yours Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Wstl/AS26.10.31. we give below copy of a letter received from The Chloride Electrical Storage Co.Ltd., in reply to ours of 27th inst. regarding broken lid {A. J. Lidsey} of the above-mentioned battery.

" We have your letter of 27th inst inst., and are sorry that you have accidentally cracked one of the lids supplied recently with the two 6-SSM 7-11 batteries.

We are having another lid {A. J. Lidsey} sent on to you for replacement, which is the only one we have at the moment; also six spare lid {A. J. Lidsey} screws.

We have noted your remarks with regard to these lids being fragile compared with those fitted to the batteries for your 40/50-HP Chassis, and also your suggestion with regard to fitting the screws with a retaining ring, and you can rest assured both these points will receive our consideration. "

Roy {Sir Henry Royce}
