RE EARTHED WIRING SCHEME ON 6.EX CAR.

We have had trouble with the wiring on this car owing to the fact that the earthed connection from the battery was not made properly. As arranged, the earthing was carried out by fixing the wire to an alum-minium clip round the front cross member holding the battery box. We found that this was making a very poor connection and have now bolted the terminal of the wire direct on to the Frame.

We noticed also on this car that the electrolyte appears to evaporate out of the cells rapidly. This may be due to the fact that the battery is of a smaller capacity and a better output from the Smith Dynamo.
