with an ambient temperature of 19°C. The limit given in our specification would be 85°C for 18° ambient. The maximum continuous ampere output on the bench was 8.0 at the scheduled hot operating voltage of 14.6. The calculated temperature by rise of field resistance is 106°C.

We found that the maximum temperature occurred at the speed at which maximum ampere output was obtained, although this temperature was not materially altered by the lower outputs at higher speeds.

It will be seen from the above that the heating performance of this machine is very reasonable for its weight.

This dynamo is now available for placing on the Goshawk II chassis, if required.
