contd :- -4- experimentally with loads as indicated in the attached sketch. Graph Labels: Vertical Axis (Top Half): Lbs.load pend:lever end Vertical Axis (Bottom Half): Lbs.load pend:lever end Horizontal Axis: Ang.mvt.pend:lever. We have fitted two 40/50 HP. cars with friction in the column. The results are good but we have not yet done sufficient running to determine the effect on high speed wobbles, a difficulty which does not occur on the 20 HP. Summarising the situation. The experiments were undertaken because we have several owners of 20 HP. cars (notably Mr. Flather) who are inveterate complainers and whom we cannot satisfy with regard to 'joggles'; they quote other cheap cars to us as being superior. We feel that it is because the steerings are not made so well on the cheaper contd :- | ||
