We have to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the 21st instant. Your remarks are appreciated and we assure you that we are proceeding with production of the 13 3/4" plates and are in no way delaying fabrication. Yesterday we despatched a quantity of nine assemblies and before despatch assemblies were subjected to a drag test during which was proven that no drag was discernable at a retraction of pressure plate of .068" With reference to the two plates, having specially arranged U-slots, that you are returning to us for excessive run-out, immediately upon receipt same will be rectified and returned to you. Our Designs Department have been informed of your comments as to the advisability or otherwise of changing the position of the U-slots, and before finalising this matter we will await your comments as to how assemblies behave in service.
