We wish to acknowledge receipt of your postcard of the 2nd instant with regard to the above order, and, as requested, we have pleasure in returning herewith the acknowledgment slip duly completed. It is appreciated, of course, that the manufacture of these fan belts necessitates provision of new moulds, but we are hoping to be able to despatch the belts in about ten days' time. We much regret that we are unable to give you a price for these belts, since we are not yet in a position to manufacture them on a production basis, so that we cannot arrive at accurate manufacturing costs. We mentioned to Mr. Steadman a short time ago that the belts are being made on a special plant, and it would be misleading to submit any price, so that we shall be very pleased to supply these experimental belts on a 'no-charge' basis, which we trust meets with your approval.
