Customer complaint regarding the poor non-skid performance of Dunlop tyres and the possibility of re-treading.

DUNLOP TYRES. x9050 Mr. Worth, who is a personal friend of mine, has two 20 HP. RR. cars. He has complained that they skid badly so that he dare not let his wife drive them. Actually, I think the trouble is due to his tyres having worn rather badly. As you know, the present Dunlop tyre is a very poor non-skid for 50% of its effective life due to the depth of the non-skid tread being considerably less than the rubber beneath it. I was at Dunlops the other day and they agreed that they could make a satisfactory job of re-treading tyres if we had cases where customers complained. When such tyres were sent to them, a covering note should be addressed to The Development Department. I have written direct to Mr. Worth as I talked to him about the tyres the other day and we attach a copy of the letter. Perhaps the re-treading information will be of some use to you.
