HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} 40 Copy to BJ. [Strikethrough] DY.{F R Danby} [Strikethrough] FJB EAC.10. ENGINE. X7090 X411 E2/M30.8.28. X1770 Referring to your report HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/ACL1/LG28828., it is concluded that an alteration to the timing would be beneficial, and R.{Sir Henry Royce} would like you to get out at Derby a new exhaust cam utilising the present exhaust for the new inlet. Two new camshafts should be prepared with different angles between the cams giving timing diagrams as follows:- No. 1. IN 4 12 EX IN 52 52 EX Angle between cams = 114°. (Diagram values: 61 DIV, 57 DIV) No. 2. IN 6 10 EX IN 54 54 EX Angle between cams = 116°. (Diagram values: 61 DIV, 57 DIV) Clearance in both cases = .013 so that timing should shew heavy accelerations only. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
