TOTAL ISOLATION OF 20 HP. CHASSIS.
---------------------------------

We do not feel that the total isolation scheme can be looked upon as a success. Sn.{Mr Sanderson} has informed me that within a very short time six cars, five of them having been built in London, Hoopers, or Barkers, have had to be changed back from the total isolation scheme to our semi-isolation scheme as previously fitted. On hearing this, I discussed the matter with Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} The Experimental Dept. are of the opinion that the change from the semi-isolation to full isolation is a mistake. Their experiences in the last 20,000 mile run in France were such as to lead them to jamm up the space between the scuttle and the dashboard to cut out the full isolation effect.

In view of the facts, we are of the opinion that the C.S.C. should take this matter up and come to a definite decision as to whether they are satisfied to go on with the full isolation scheme.

Derby's attitude is that it is a mistake.
