THE BRISTOL AEROPLANE COMPANY LTD SIR G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} STANLEY WHITE, BT{Capt. J. S. Burt - Engineer} (MANAGING DIRECTOR.) FILTON HOUSE, BRISTOL, ENG. YOUR REF. OUR REF. ENGINES F/HCM-7. 23rd November 1933. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} W. Hives Esq, Messrs Rolls-Royce Ltd, Derby. Dear Mr Hives, Thank you very much indeed for giving Mansell and myself such an excellent day yesterday, we enjoyed it immensely, also for your advice on the car. I have written to Park Ward, suggesting certain modifications on the stream line body. I should be very grateful if you would keep an eye on the chassis for me, and see that it is a good one. I would far rather wait two or three weeks, and ensure having the job absolutely right. I take it that Mr Rowbotham will let me know about any letters of introduction he wants before he leaves on December 30th. I hope you will have luck with the Goshawk engine, and shall expect figures as promised, as soon as you have got the Type Test through. I should also be very interested to have any figures you feel you could give me on your new engine, in regard to H.P. and weight. I gather that you are type testing the Goshawk at normal mixture, and not weakest mixture at maintained power, and that you will be running the 50 hours weak mixture test after the -1- P.T.O. | ||
