Further comparisons were carried out on Brooklands to test the square tube radiator, an altered fan, c.o. open etc. Also to determine exactly the difference between a louvred and plain bonnet and to get figures for the cooling system at maximum speed for which tests special racing tyres were used. The cooling of the 75 Chrysler was also compared with the Phantom II. Briefly the results are as follows. Square tube radiator. There is very little difference between the square tube radiator and standard radiator for cooling at high speeds. The actual figures given show the standard radiator to be some 3º better, but we know from comparisons that this standard radiator is on the upper limit of efficiency and that the average standard radiators produced will not be more than 1º better than the square tube. The square tube matrix comes out slightly heavier than the standard round tube but this is compensated | ||
