8th July, 1937.

Mr. A.C. Stenhouse,
Riggside,
North Road,
Bellshill,
Lanarkshire.

Dear Sir,

I have just received a letter from Mr. Taub of Vauxhall Motors Ltd. saying that you have been Assistant to Mr. Zimerlie of Messrs. Barnes Gibson & Raymond of Detroit.

We have recently been running a number of tests on valve springs, some of which were made by Gibson & Raymond, and others by the Tempered Spring Co., Burton Weir Works, Sheffield. We have also been making some springs ourselves.

We have had varying success with these springs, and would like to have a talk with you if this can be arranged.

Mr. Taub did not say what your position was in the industry at present.

Yours faithfully,

For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
