Rolls-Royce, Limited, DERBY. 20th April, 1939. Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 18th, and confirming telephone conversation this morning, we are sending you a further two 6.50-16 Track Racing covers and four tubes to suit. We thank you for your assurance that these will not be used on the car which recently put up such an excellent performance on the Continent, and that they are purely to enable you to carry out the proposed power consumption tests, as our Racing Department feel that for prolonged high speed work they would not be suitable on the car previously mentioned. Yours faithfully, For DUNLOP RUBBER CO., LTD. H.C. Price Manager, Car Manfrs. Divn. P.S. The type of Racing cover originally supplied to you, which we are duplicating, is not a stock item and when ordered has to be produced specially. There may be some little delay in obtaining the further two tyres and four tubes, but in view of the fact that you may be carrying out your tests next week, we are expediting the matter as much as possible. | ||
