( 2 ) 7) There is a continual small oil leak from the breather hole on the back of the filler boss on top of the rear axle. The loss of oil is negligible but it makes the axle very messy. 8) Rear shackles dismantled and found in good condition. End play measured :- N.S. top .005" bottom .003" O.S. top and bottom .003". 9) Half a pint of oil has been lost from each front spring box apparently through pumping back out of the breather caps. 10) The suction pipe in the petrol tank was found to be partially blocked by solder and dirt. The lumps of solder were stuck to the inside of the pipe. 11) Flats worn on front tyres. This seems to accompany violent braking. The present tyres have not been subjected to much violent braking and no flats have appeared. 12) Bonnet hinge pins working out and thumping against scuttle. There is a modification on 32-EX. to prevent this by means of special plugs and taper pins which is successful and should be applied to the 25/30 bonnet. 13) Oil leaks along spindle of windscreen wiper operating knob. These are Klaxon wipers. The trouble also occurred on 35-EX. The new type Lucas wipers as fitted to 3.B.IV. in France were an improvement in this respect. 14) Three K.L.G. FLB.30.X. plugs failed due to cracked insulators. ----------------- Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/IMW.{Ivan M. Waller - Head of Chateauroux} | ||
