WEST WITTERINGHenry Royce's home town, CHICHESTER. R2/M24.6.24. 24th. June 1924. E.H.Micklewood Esq., 18 Sutherland Rd., Plymouth. Dear Mr. Micklewood, With regard to our conversation during your visit here on the 21st. inst., it was agreed that you should send your experimental engine to Derby for our Expl: staff to test, and that you should go to Derby personally to dismantle the engine and go over each part with our testers before the engine is run. Also that the pump cylinder bore should be trued up and a new piston fitted by us if necessary. for which you would supply the pattern. It was further agreed that we should send you a copy of the results of our tests, and that all possible secrecy should be observed in connection with the valves and gear of the engine, to enable you to safely complete your patents. It was also agreed that the RR. Co. should bear the expenses testing the engine, and returning it to you, but would not be held responsible for any damage to it resulting from or during the tests.
