- 2 - It certainly does appear as if some more adequate stop than that supplied by the leaving of the thread towards the end of the fine screw, unmilled, is insufficient for the purpose. We are sending you back the jack in a dismantled condition, so that you will be able to see for yourself the cause of the trouble. You will notice the distorted thread referred to in our previous description, and I think you will agree that the amount of surface available for preventing the jack from being over-wound on a thread of these dimensions is insufficient, and will certainly cause trouble sooner or later if the jacks were to get out into customers' hands in their present form. We are sending the jack dismantled, packed in a case with all the parts together, under separate cover for your examination, addressed for the attention of Colonel Matthew! Yours faithfully, R. {Sir Henry Royce} M. {Mr Moon / Mr Moore} Harvey Bailey TECHNICAL PRODUCTION ENGINEER. FOR ROLLS ROYCE LIMITED. | ||
