Phantom III Tyre Noise.

We have now tested the Dunlop R.90 type tyres Nos. 267253 A.A. and 292445 A.A. and the Goodyear tyres Nos. E.60151-349 and E.67022-149 on our Ph.III car 27-EX, and have come to the conclusion that in this particular stage of wear the Dunlop tyres are the quieter of the two makes for groan. There is no difference between them for noise over setts.

The alleged number of miles which these tyres have run is 5130, but an examination of the treads does not tally with this figure as we know tyre wear on a Phantom III. One would rather say the wear is equivalent to approximately 2,000 miles.
