SECRET. To E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} from Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Copy to Wor.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager}Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.JLE.{J. Lee Evans - Chassis Test Manager}Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} re SpectreCodename for Phantom III 4 Chassis Body. Thanks for E.1/HP.24.4.35. I assume that the E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/HN.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders}25.4.35 memo. received to-day should refer to SpectreCodename for Phantom III 3 and not SpectreCodename for Phantom III 4 as the latter has not/been built. I note that the complete body comes out at 11 cwt. 26 lbs., which is much about the same as the average weight of a P.II Continental touring saloon, but this of course is good in view of the fact that it has been strengthened in the manner referred to in your memo. With regard to the last paragraph on Page 1 of your memo. I agree that the suggested scheme of making the front of the/body, the dash and the floor-boards all in one piece ought to come along as a separate development at a later date and not be tied up with the urgent SpectreCodename for Phantom III programme of to-day. With regard to Page 2 I understand from Hn.{F. C. Honeyman - Retail orders} that Park Ward's have received instructions to go ahead with body No.4 and we should like to see the specification as soon as possible. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} | ||
