EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. -2- Expl. No. REF:Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Rm {William Robotham - Chief Engineer} 1/LG121025

the carburation on the car tested was not superlatively good. We have included a curve 2. which we should expect to obtain with a Phantom whose weight was the same as that of a Silver Ghost(1907 40/50 historic RAC 15,000 miles trial). This, when compared with curve R. {Sir Henry Royce} , demonstrates the gain in performance which will accrue from the increased M.E.P., other things being equal. At the higher speeds the performance of the Phantom is very much better than that of the Silver Ghost(1907 40/50 historic RAC 15,000 miles trial) because weight ceases to be the predominant factor and windage is of vital importance.

The bodies of the cars were not very different, though that of the Silver Ghost(1907 40/50 historic RAC 15,000 miles trial) had undoubtedly the smaller projected area, in addition, the hood of this car was not raised.
