Phantom III - Spring Flywheel. We send herewith N.Sch.4987 showing a spring plate for this flywheel revised in accordance with a detail drawing recently received from the Cadillac Motor Car Co. The material specified on the Cadillac drawing is S.A.E.1095 which is a .9 - 1.0 carbon steel. We have hitherto made the spring plates in nickel steel but it seems to us that an effort should be made to procure the high carbon steel. We understand from Mr Marriott that Messrs. Tyzack's are likely to be able to supply finished plates of the required material. E/HDY.{William Hardy} N.Sch.4987 herewith. | ||
