Re Triptiques.

With reference to the triptiques and particulars of cars going on to the Continent, the R.A.C. are complaining that we do not give them very much notice to prepare the necessary papers, etc. for these cars and as regards the three now put through, it took them all their time to get the papers and cars passed in time to catch the boat. In future, therefore, will you kindly let me have at least 48 hours notice, as of course you must remember the Touring Department have a great number of other cars going through besides our own.

There are still one or two items it is necessary to have, which you generally fail to give us, and we herewith give you a full list of the particulars required, and in future when you are sending cars through, we should like all these particulars filled in as although one or two of them may appear trivial, they are of the utmost importance.

Makers number of motor viz. on the engine.
Chassis No.
If already registered, registration No.
Kind and make of tyres.
Number of spare tyres.
Colour and number of wheels, including spares.
Kind and colour of body.
Colour of upholstery.
Seating capacity.
Weight, in ordinary running order.
Country or other countries for which the forms are required.
Date of departure.

Also the kinds of brakes that are fitted, as we believe the car we sent you a few days ago had both brakes on the back wheels, and not as standard, one on engine and one on back wheels.

We should also like to know if possible if you require the G.B. International Plate which is required, fixed on the back of the car.

With reference to the people accompanying the cars, it is necessary that we should have the full name of the driver, where he was born, the date and year he was born, and his home residence. We generally put this latter as c/o Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby and we think perhaps that is sufficient in all cases.

W. Cowen.
