FRONT BRAKES - NEW AXLE. X8420
Herewith we send N. scheme 2298. shewing the modifications required to allow a squeak damper to be fitted to the front brakes.
It will be seen that we ask for a slightly longer cross steering lever with the ball pin slightly lower than now.
We have taken the opportunity, in view of the information shewn on GL.{G. Linnett}206.,- memo. reference BY/CGH{W Clough}6/H91126 to increase the radius of the shock damper ball end to 5.5", which we consider gives you sufficient clearance between the brake lever and the connecting rod ball end, and also between the bolt on the shoe fulcrum.
We have also shewn on this drawing the proposed steady for the inner brake carrier, calling for modifications to the oil trap on the brake camshaft.
