1158 Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.8/MH.{M. Huckerby} 5th. November 1938. The British Thermostat Co. Ltd., Teddington Works, Windmill Road, Sunbury-on-Thames, MIDDX. For the attention of Mr. Martin-Hurst. Dear Sirs, Referring to your two recent letters regarding rheostats for car heaters. In view of your remarks we will run one of these rheostats on an experimental car, and also take one apart for examination, and, therefore, shall not be returning them to you as stated, at the moment, at any rate. We still, of course, feel that there is an objection to the use of this rheostat on the grounds of cost. We note with interest your remarks about the relative reliability of rolled, hydraulically formed, and diaphragm type bellows, and shall be interested to receive the sample which you mention. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
