EFC1/ADS.7.30 contd. -2- We naturally at the time concluded, from the results of the above tests of electric clocks, that considerable further development was necessary. The former of the two clocks at present on test is a Boyce clock which Mr.Northey arranged to be sent to us for test by the Boyce Motor Accessories Ltd. They claim that considerable improvement has been made with this clock in comparison with a previous Boyce clock which we tested. One improvement consists in the maintenance of power by virtue of which the clock will continue to go for a period of about half an hour even if the accumulator is temporarily disconnected. The makers also state that "this maintaining power has an appreciable effect against the action of the magnet when winding and has resulted in even better time keeping than with the older models". Various other minor improvements have also been made and the clock we have received purports to represent the very latest degree of satisfaction and reliability. This clock has been bench tested with the result that it has been so far found to agree in action with the maker's statements, but it is still the case that if | ||
