NOTES ON VISIT OF
MR. PARNELL,
Lockheed Brakes. 23.4.40.

Mr. Parnell, of Lockheed Brakes paid us a visit to discuss an all hydraulic brake installation for the Ripplette.

1. Mr. Bastow raised the question of the flange on the carrier plate to take the pull of the bi-sector. Mr Parnell agreed that such provision was necessary.

2. Transverse Wheel Cylinder.

The question was raised that the new type of transverse wheel cylinder would not be available by the time the set of brakes was wanted and therefore we should probably be supplied with some out of date parts. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} suggested that we would rather make the up-to-date pieces if they can be obtained in no other way, and Mr. Parnell agreed to take the matter up with Lockheed's.

3. Adjustment.

The question of an adjustment necessitating a hole through the drum, was ventilated. Since it will not be possible to get water into this adjusting hole unless the wheel is removed, it was decided that no provision for covering up the hole should be made until it has been proved that it was necessary.

Bastow raised the point that there was no provision for automatically preventing further adjustment when the correct shoe clearance had been arrived at.

4. Drums.

The designed drum has only one rib. It was generally agreed that this might be considered as
