May 3rd. 1915. Re Bumping Test of Marston Zimmerman Radiator. I am more than pleased to see that the Zimmerman pattern radiator has stood the bumping so well, as you will all agree that this is both light and efficient, and probably the one which results in the coolest floorboards. I am particularly anxious that this should be adopted instead of the square pattern, especially as there is some doubt about the square pattern tubes being sound. The only thing that could possibly stand in the way of its adoption is the cost. I should be glad of a comparison with the one you think of adopting, which I am informed costs £25. You will notice that the saving of weight in the radiator is in an important position, falling entirely on the front wheels. I had also been hoping to hear something of the tests on the steam separator pattern, but in testing this one must realise that the comparison should be between two half empty ones. Mr Platford and all of you realise how enormously important it is that with a boiling radiator we should only lose steam and not water. F.H.Royce. | ||
